Pathways has just received a generous grant from the law firm Morrison Foerster to implement a project in which basic English and Maths will be taught in factories and local communities by trained RMG Pathways students.
The expertise and experience of the Pathways program will facilitate the training of teachers by enhancing their language support of students in their communities. Trained teachers will also be able to facilitate, in their students, the development of critical thinking skills and provide them with tools for their education.
The Pre-Access, Pathways department has just finished delivering a series of teacher training workshops to 20 English Faculty from 6 Chittagong based Universities. Two workshops focused on developing English speaking and writing skills in an academic context and the concluding workshop explored the assessment , both formative and summative, of speaking and writing. The workshops were very well received and will be repeated early next year to Faculty from Dhaka based Universities. The program is being funded by AUW partners, The United Board , through a grant called the Bamboo Fund.
